As a school admin you have full attendance access across every class. Teachers can only see and mark attendance for the classes they’re assigned to — you can see everything, correct errors, and step in when a teacher is absent.
Viewing today’s attendance
- Open Admin Dashboard → Attendance
- Select a class from the list
- See every child in that class with their current attendance status: Present, Absent, Late, Sick, Vacation, or Excused
The view defaults to today’s date.
Overriding a child’s attendance record
Teachers sometimes make errors — a child marked absent who actually arrived late, or marked present when they left early. As admin you can correct any record.
- Navigate to the class attendance view for the relevant date
- Click the child’s name
- Change the attendance status
- Save
The record is updated immediately. The change is visible to the teacher and, where applicable, to the child’s guardians.
Marking attendance yourself
If a teacher is absent and no substitute has been assigned, you can mark attendance directly.
The flow is identical to the teacher experience:
- Admin Dashboard → [Class] → Attendance → [Date]
- Mark each child: Present, Absent, Late, Sick, Vacation, or Excused
- Save
Viewing past attendance
Navigate to any previous date using the attendance calendar. There is no lock-out period — you can correct records from any past date.
Parent leave requests
When a parent submits a leave request through the app, the child is automatically marked Excused for the requested dates. You’ll see:
- The excused status in the daily attendance view
- The parent’s note attached to the record
You do not need to manually process the leave — the status updates automatically. You can override the status if needed.
Monthly attendance view
To see a full month of attendance for a child:
- Open the child’s profile
- Go to Attendance
- Select the month
The monthly grid shows each calendar day with its status: Present, Absent, Late, Sick, Vacation, or Excused. This view is useful for identifying patterns or preparing for parent meetings.
Exporting attendance
Open Admin Dashboard → Reports for:
- Attendance Grid — a class-wise matrix of children against dates, exportable as PDF or CSV
- Child Monthly Report — one child’s attendance and daily reports for a date range, in a single branded document
Both are useful for parent meetings and for your own records. See Downloading Attendance & Fee Reports for the full walkthrough, including the optional setting that lets a parent pull their own child’s attendance report.
Correct any wrong records before you export — a generated document is a snapshot of the data at that moment, not a live view.
