Tracking Your Child's Daily Routine

See everything about your child's day — mood, meals, nap, activities, and photos — all in one place in the Mazhali app.

What Is a Daily Report?

A daily report is a snapshot of your child’s day at school. It includes everything a parent wants to know: mood, meals, nap time, activities, teacher observations, and photos.

Where to Find the Daily Report

  1. Open the Mazhali app
  2. Tap the Daily Reports tile on your home screen (or tap the Daily Reports tab in the bottom navigation)
  3. Select your child if you have more than one

You’ll see today’s report if the teacher has posted one. For past days, tap the calendar icon and select a date.

Understanding Each Section

Mood

Your child’s emotional state throughout the day. Teachers select from:

  • Happy 😊
  • Excited 🤩
  • Neutral 😐
  • Tired 😴
  • Cranky 😠
  • Sad 😢

This helps you understand how your child is adjusting and whether they might need extra care or sleep.

Meals

Shows whether your child ate well, partially, or didn’t eat. Includes teacher notes like:

  • “Ate all her lunch, loved the pasta”
  • “Only ate fruit, skipped the sandwich”
  • “Didn’t feel like eating today”

Nap Time

Duration of the nap (e.g., “45 minutes”) or “No nap today.” Teacher notes might mention:

  • “Fell asleep quickly, slept deeply”
  • “Restless nap, up twice”
  • “Chose not to nap; played quietly instead”

Toilet Visits

A count of bathroom visits to help you understand patterns (especially helpful for parents working on potty training).

Activities

A summary of what the class did today:

  • “Art and craft: made collages with paper and stickers”
  • “Outdoor play: climbed on the playground, played with water table”
  • “Story time: read three books, sang songs”

Teacher Notes

Freeform observations from the teacher:

  • “Very helpful in tidying up today, showed good listening skills”
  • “Made a new friend during group time”
  • “Seemed distracted, may need more sleep at home”

Photos

Photos your teacher takes throughout the day. Tap any photo to see it full-size. Look for the download icon 📥 to save to your phone—they’re yours to keep!

Privacy note: All photos are signed and belong to your family. You only see photos that include your child — photos of other children in the class are not shared with you.

When Does the Report Appear?

Teachers post the daily report during or at the end of the school day. You’ll receive a push notification (if notifications are enabled) as soon as it’s posted. If you don’t see a report by evening, check back later—the teacher may still be uploading it.

Feed Posts vs. Daily Reports

Don’t confuse these two:

  • Daily Report: Covers your specific child, posted once per day, includes mood/meals/nap/photos
  • Feed: Photos your teacher shares with the whole class. You only see posts that tag your child. These appear throughout the day as moments happen.

What If There’s No Report Today?

It happens. Teachers might be busy, or the school might be closed. If you’re concerned or expect a report, you can message your child’s teacher directly in the Messages tab.

By checking daily reports, you stay connected to your child’s world at school. It’s one of the best parts of using Mazhali!
