Understanding Mazhali's Subscription Plans

A clear breakdown of Mazhali's plans, what's included in each tier, and how to upgrade your school as you grow.

Mazhali uses a subscription model based on the number of children enrolled at your school. There are no per-user fees for teachers or parents — only the size of your enrolled student body determines your plan.


Free trial

Every school starts with a free trial period. During the trial:

  • You have full access to every feature in Mazhali
  • No credit card is required
  • No restrictions on classes, staff, or parents

The trial gives you enough time to set up your school, invite your team, and experience the product exactly as paying customers do.


Plan tiers

Plans are designed around the number of active children enrolled in your school. Specific plan details and pricing are on the Pricing page.

Key principles:

  • No per-user fees — add unlimited teachers, admins, and parents at no extra cost
  • Plan limit is based on children — the number of active enrolled children determines which tier you’re on
  • Upgrade as you grow — move to a higher tier when your enrolment grows

What counts toward your plan limit

Active children enrolled in a class count toward your limit.

  • A child added to a class and actively enrolled = counts
  • Staff accounts = do not count
  • Parent/guardian accounts = do not count
  • Children who have been removed from all classes = do not count

If you’re approaching your limit, removing inactive children from classes frees up space before you need to upgrade.


What happens when the trial ends

When your trial period expires:

  1. A banner appears in the app for all admin users prompting an upgrade
  2. Core app functionality is paused — teachers cannot mark attendance, post updates, or send reports
  3. No data is lost — your school data, children, attendance history, and posts are all preserved

Upgrading immediately restores full access.


How to upgrade

Contact us through our contact page or via the in-app contact option. Our team will confirm your plan and activate it — typically within one business day.

An online payment gateway for self-service upgrades is planned for v3.


Common questions

Can you switch to a different plan? Yes. Contact support and we’ll move you to the right tier — up or down — based on your current enrolment.

Do children not assigned to a class count? No. Only children actively enrolled in a class count toward your plan limit.

Do parents with multiple children count more than once? No. The limit counts children, not guardian accounts or the number of children per guardian.

Is there a limit on the number of classes or staff? No. You can create as many classes as you need and invite unlimited staff and parents on any plan.

What if we need a custom arrangement? Schools with specific needs — multiple campuses, unusual enrolment structures — should contact us directly. We’re happy to work out a setup that fits.
